The “Install Apps on Devices” action

The Install Apps on Devices action is used to install iOS app files onto connected devices. On OS X, iOS applications are represented as “.ipa” files. An “.ipa” file is an iOS application archive file which stores an iOS app.

Input:ECID Identifiers for the connected devices on which the selected apps will be installed
Output:ECID Identifiers for the connected devices on which the selected apps were installed
Parameters:

You can select the apps to install from the list of iOS app files located on the computer

The Action View

(⬆ see above ) Click the “Update” button  1  in the action view to refresh the list of IPA files  2  located on your system. Select the checkboxes  3  next to the IPA files you wish the action to install on the connected devices.

NOTE: This action locates the IPA files on your system by using this Spotlight search command:
  mdfind "kMDItemContentType == com.apple.itunes.ipa"
If IPA files are not appearing in the list in the action view, check the Privacy tab of the Spotlight system preference pane and make sure that any directories containing the IPA’s to locate, are not listed as being exempted from searches.
